Since 2011, Ray Carmen has presented hour-long multimedia programs for the Akron-Summit County Public Library, Stark County District Library, Garrettsville Public Library, Cuyahoga Falls Library, North Canton Public Library, Barberton Public Library, and Medina County Public Library systems.

An Akron, OH-based musician since the late 1980s, he is lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Librarians With Hickeys, whose debut album Long Overdue and follow up Handclaps And Tambourines were released on Big Stir Records to widespread critical acclaim and worldwide airplay, including Little Steven's Underground Garage on Sirius XM, the BBC and Radio Caroline in the UK.  Their third album How To Make Friends By Telephone will be released November 2024.  Carmen is also host of  The POP!
